I have to agree with people saying that if felt thrown together and that they are just going overboard on the IP insertion.Well, I’m sure some podcasters will tell you it doesn’t have to. I can see it in the Magic Kingdom, but not so much in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Even then Zootopia fits, Moana, not so much. On the flip side they can just appropriate all the developments from Shanghai Disney to put the Zootopia attractions in. All the research and development was already paid for. Mostly by other people.īut it did sound like it was all a “What If?” episode. Aaron Wallace □ D23 Expo SeptemA lot of disclaimers about how it’s not a sure thing were made. Now I’m waiting for all the scalpers to preemptively clean out all the Dinoland U.S.A. merch like we saw with Splash Mountain.THE SOCIAL NETWORK (Sony) David Fincher's tightly wound story of Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg is a new-media "Citizen Kane." Like the book it is based on, the story revolves around lawsuits filed against Zuckerberg by former friends and colleagues who accuse him of stealing their idea. As Zuckerberg, Jesse Eisenberg tears off and spits out chunks of Aaron Sorkin's staccato dialogue. Justin Timberlake plays a cautionary, beta version of Zuckerberg. Trent Reznor's ruthless soundscape is like a 9-inch nail to the head. And Fincher moves the elements around as effortlessly and seamlessly as a line of code. The result is a smart bomb of a film that illustrates how technology and innovation influence human behavior. In this remake of a French film, a bunch of corporate snobs compete to bring the biggest loser to dinner. Paul Rudd is a low-level drone who brings Steve Carell, whose avocation is making "mousterpieces," meticulously constructed dioramas using dead rodents. Carell does not stray far from the clueless character he plays on "The Office," and the film is formula-driven. But director Jay Roach wrangles nicely constructed character sketches from an unruly improvisational ensemble that includes Zach Galifianakis and Jemaine Clement. (PG-13 crude sexual content, partial nudity, language) ** 1/2ĬATFISH.
